We will be adding more links soon to online tributes to Norma. What follows below is in her own words.

Welcome to the website I never thought I’d have. All around me, my writer friends have been putting up websites… and I’ve been putting it off. Now that I’ve joined the crowd, I'm really liking it and looking forward to having you visit.

So, hello, and forgive my face being turned away from you in this snapshot. The fact is, I'm most comfortable not being watched or photographed, but watching others, and listening, and absorbing details of the world and people around me. I chose this picture because it reminds me of the day it was taken: April, 2007, in New York City, and I had just spotted my sister, sitting at a table at an outdoor restaurant, waiting for me.  My sis and I are both grandmas, but to me she'll always be my "little" sister, and when we're together, we crack each other up and laugh a lot over things that probably don't strike other people as that funny.  I chose this picture also because my sister's friend Massimo snapped it without my even noticing that he had his camera in hand. [Duh. He's a photographer.] So this isn't  a say-cheese-smile-for-the-camera  set up. It's real: me just as I was at that moment. In a way, that's what I'm always aiming for in my books, something real.

Below is the cover of my latest book. I like that cover a lot, and I also like the good news I got recently that the book is on the Texas list of recommended books for young adults and has also been named a Best Book for Young Adults by the American Library Association.
